The Vision For Honey Rock Hills

"According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ." (1 Corinthians 3:10-11)

" Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it..." (Psalm 127:1)

So here it is. The first post of this new online business the Lord has lead me to open: Honey Rock Hills.

So for this introductory post, I thought I'd share with you the vision God has given me for Honey Rock Hills and thus an idea of what to expect in future posts.

First, Honey Rock Hills is a business that is fully dedicated to Jesus Christ. Without Him, this would never have been and He is the CEO of this business. If you'd asked me in January if I had any intention of starting a new business, I would have shook my head, but over the past few months God has been opening door after door and I'll continue to walk through those doors, following His lead, until He shuts them. Which leads me to the purpose of Honey Rock Hills.

The mission of this business is to come alongside my sisters in Christ – especially those still in their teen years – and encourage them to be disciples of Christ, who will mentor others to be disciples of Christ. One way I believe God has given us as young women to do this is by learning new skills that not only provide a productive source of income, but can also bless others by what we create. By skill, I mean an interest or talent the Lord has given us and learning that gift until we have mastered it enough to bless others with it (via a business or ministry), and also teach it to others so they can in turn bless those in their lives. The skills we may learn can include anything from writing books, music arranging, card designs, herbal care, gardening, beekeeping, raising goats, photography and so on; but it all comes back to using that talent to honor Jesus and serve others. It's exciting to think about all God can do through a young lady who is willing to prayerfully seek His word and be adventurous enough to try her hand at learning something new! If Jesus can use Honey Rock Hills to spark that in just one person, then I will count this business an instant success.

For starts, I'll be publishing blog posts on a weekly basis on the whys, hows and whats of learning various skills and recommending resources that have helped me. In the future, it's also my hope to provide additional resources as the Lord continue to leads. Jesus is the foundation of Honey Rock Hills and it will be built stone by stone as The Master Builder instructs. It reminds me of some of my favorite Bible passages where God promises He will lead and guide us. These same verses are my prayer for Honey Rock Hills and for what God is doing right now in your life!

“For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me.”
(Psalm 31:3)

"I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye." (Psalm 32:8)

“Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee. Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.” (Psalm 143:8 & 10)

"And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left." (Isaiah 30:21

“Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.” (Isaiah 48:17)
