The Promise Is: Authority

Last fall, I did a Bible search for promises God has made about Himself and especially His

power. If you
have never done such a study, you are cheating yourself out of faith at its best. I found over 150 such promises in the Bible - and they were just a lick off the ice cream cone. :) The Word of God is quick and powerful, germinating faith in the hearts of those who hear and believe it. There is no giant too strong for our God and He has told us why. This is meant so much to me that, as the Lord leads, I want to share some of these precious promises with you. Will you join me in learning and believing what the promises of God are?

And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? (Luke 18:1-8)

There is a battle raging in the heavenlies we can’t even comprehend. It is a spiritual one, yet with very physical, tangible consequences for you and I. Jesus knew He was leaving His followers in a world controlled by enemy forces. So He showed them how to use one of their most important weapons: prayer. He also left them with a promise:
"And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily."
God is the Supreme Judge. In His hand is the legal power to issue a restraining order against our spiritual adversary and give us rest. Period. Yet there was one part of the equation even Jesus couldn't promise. When the Son of man comes, will He find faith on the earth? Will He find it in you? Will He find it in me?

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Matthew 28:18
